Fringe me fancy

Fashion to me is fun, experimental, creative, artsy....the list can go on but when it comes to hair I may as well be in the middle of Japan trying to have a conversation with a Japanese person using sign language...I have no idea what I'm doing. Hair is a crazy thing; it has a mind of it's own and decides what it wants to do on a day to day basis. Some days I love my hair - kind of crazy with a bed head-ish look, others it's stick straight or half and half....in comes my good friend and favorite hair expert, Dhiran Mistry.

Dhiran is a stylist at John Barrett Salon at Bergdorf Goodman and if anything, he knows hair. When I spot a hairstyle I want to try I go to Dhiran, when I need a trim to freshen up, I go to Dhiran, when I need style advice for an event, I go to Dhiran...you get the point. He's amazing. All the way from across the pond (he's from England), he came to NYC with the same passion for hair that I have for fashion and so we bonded over a Starbucks latte and our love of this wonderfully, creative city. Oh, and he loved my 'fringe'. :)

Twenty Twelve

When the ball dropped at midnight in Times Square everyone around the world was hugging, cheersing (is that even a word?!), kissing and deciding their new years resolutions...I on the other hand, did all of the above with the exception of the latter. I loathe new years resolutions. It's like saying 'I will never eat bread again'. What happens 1 short hour later, you eat a loaf of bread. Instead of making resolutions that will soon be broken I will just continuously strive to be a better person in every aspect of my life. I want to grow my business, become an expert in my field, make more friends, do things that make me uncomfortable, say YES more often, be more adventurous...anything to make this year one that is unforgettable. When the clock struck midnight as my glass clinked around the room I couldn't stop repeating '2012 is going to be an amazing year', and I believe that with every bit of my none resolution self.
