Nice Outfit..

..is the actual meaning for "Bona Drag". The words come from a secret language called Polari, which was made up by London's gay culture in the 60's. Bonadrag.com is a super cool online shopping site you should not pass up; it showcases vintage pieces as well as trinkets from independent hard-to-find designers and the vintage looking jewelry (flair) is out of this world. A few of my fav's are this double chain ring, vertebrae and bullet necklaces. Don't miss out on these one of a kind finds!!

Simon Spurr - "luxe-o-phile"

Beautiful men and beautiful clothes - perfect way to spend a dreary Sunday morning. Simon Spurr sent exquisitely tailored suits and suit pieces down the runway. One trend that almost all looks had was the scarf - or was it a snood?? No matter - they were a great addition to the wonderful subtle sheen and soft mustard yellow and pale pink that walked down the runway.

Tommy's 25!

Tommy Hilfiger is celebrating their 25th year making American's favorite clothing. The show was classic TH - preppy. As lawn sport attire strutted down the runway in fun colors, classic and slouchy shapes and cool patterns Hilfiger has proved once again why he has been around so long.

OH DVF

She never fails.

Fashion Week - Sweet!

Fashion Week isn't just about the fashion - it's about giving back! Fashion Night Out is the one night where stores stay open late for customers to shop and enjoy the fun atmosphere and free food and booze. It's also a great time for stores and designers to donate some of their proceeds to the New York City AIDS Fund. Besides fashion companies getting involved in this selfless act - Crumbs Bakery is jumping on the wagon as well. Crumbs created an original cupcake just for Fashion Night Out and they will be selling it all Fashion Week at all NYC locations as well as other select locations. So no worries if you weren't able to get your hands on this pink tasty treat for FNO - go grab one now - guilt free since it's for a good cause (Crumbs will donate 20% of all proceeds from their FNO cupcake)!!

Chic meet Mrs. Malandrino

Catherine Malandrino drew her inspiration from the most chic people in the world - the French. The collection was very sophisticated with a touch of edge (those thigh high shoes?!), which combined makes my perfect collection. This is definitely one of my fav's so far this season.
Love the presentation set-up!

Mandy Coon - SS 2011

With an inspiration of Jellyfish, Mandy Coon translated it into asymmetrically draped dresses, unfinished hems with hanging threads and the occasional abstract jellyfish print. The collection was beautiful with the draping and pop of coral coloring. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about the braided helmut hair....was it supposed to look like the top of a jellyfish?? Regardless, while standing in a completely packed room I feel it's safe to say that everyone will be anticipating the next completely creative collection.

Z Spoke to Wu

Love how Jason Wu always seems to make his collection perfect. It's ladylike yet fun, classic yet not and  this season the mostly neutral/black palette makes it great for any occasion.
Zac Posen's Z Spoke was colorful, which added a fun factor to the collection. Can never get enough of Mr. Posen!

Some Som

Peter Som was full of sweet, feminine silhouettes and color; a nice change from the springs popular neutrals. Love this collection because each look can be mixed and matched with the next.

I dream of a world...

.... where all men dress in Billy Reid.

Last night he presented his newest Southern preppster collection downtown and I was not only loving the models but the effortless look of the classic pieces.

Rolled pants, bow ties and suspenders were some of the main details repeated throughout. And don't forget the bag. It looks like this might be the newest must have accessory for men in this collection!

LnA - Back to Basics

Subject: Model down
Location: LnA exhibit
Address: Milk Studios, NYC
Cause: Dehydration? Fatigue? Loss of breath due to altitude change caused by wearing amazing heels and sock combo?
Notes: I have never seen a model fall off her LED lit lucite box so gracefully as the one that I witnessed last night. It was all handled very professionally - she was whisked away and another model wearing the most comfortable maxi skirt and tee combo stepped up to replace her.

LnA is always a go-to for great easy basics with a twist. They brought out their new tees, easy dresses and of course ... Leggings.

F-I-E-R-C-E.com

One word for Christian Siriano's for Payless Spring 2011 collection AMAZINGGGGG. Love this guy, he's making payless way cooler than it is - talk about bringing statement pieces to the public. I don't care where these are from I. WILL. BUY. AND WEAR TO DEATH.

Project Run-a-way

Looks like Christian Siriano drew inspiration from many places as the collection is somewhat scattered - like he wasn't really sure of the direction he wanted to go - but I love the individual looks! They are a tad different than his usual but he still included what he's known for - big frilly dresses!
This needs to be in Vogue immediately.

In love with Nicholas K RTW SS 11

Bits of soft and hard are mixed with a tough-girl vibe at Nicholas K and I literally want everything. I love the casual yet sloppily put together look..

H&M stepping it up

The new H&M designer collaboration has just been announced....drum roll please...Lanvin! There will be a men's collection, designed by Lucas Ossendrijver, and of course a women's collection designed by Mr. Elbaz himself. The collections will appear in stores November 23 with a line out the door probably equal to that of the iPhone 4g, so get your vente Starbucks and a new playlist and be ready to wait. Elbaz compares a mass produced line to a stepsister, "I have a problem to do a collection that is a secondary line. I mean, you don't want to be a stepsister. You want to be Cinderella..." I have never looked at it in that sense, but Alber does have a point.
