Time for a break

I love this city but sometimes you (or I) just need a break from it. So that's exactly what I did this weekend when a friend and I decided to drive down to Maryland to visit one of my first roommates in the city (she needed a break from the city so badly she moved to Annapolis). This past week has, for some reason, felt a bit 'off' to me; my mood has been strange (not as enthusiastic about the things I love), usually extremely cautious of what I put in my body and the time I spend improving it was put on the back burner and king size candy bars seemed to hit the spot and a relationship I thought had the potential to actually go somewhere seems to have come to a screeching halt. So as I was sitting here thinking about why I needed to get away so badly I ran across this picture I took at the Armory Art show last month and all the blanks I had been searching for suddenly began to fill themselves in, 1. everything happens for a reason (I believe this more and more every day) and 2
And I do. Believe in myself that is.

So thank you Jenn and Sean for such a great weekend, I needed it more than you will know and our picnic on the dock with good conversation and mimosas was exactly what I needed (and the delicious seafood feast couldn't have been better). Just look how deep in thought I was! HA. Love you both!

Did you miss me?

I've been busy! Here are some images from my shoot last weekend...

This is for the guys...

Luke Simon is a new menswear line that is based and manufactured in NYC - while all the fabrics are imported from Japan with a mixture of American cottons. The SS10 collection, titled 'Urban Zen', which is in stores now, is inspired by the fast pace city life fused with the relaxed, beach vibe. Pastel colors, soft cotton textures and the lightweight feel only add to the comfort of the collection with a preppy, hampton-ish twist. The details in each garment and the price points (mostly under $200) make this collection uber trendy and very sought after. Guys get ready for those summer BBQ's and beach trips with a few pieces from Luke Simon! On the East coast you can find at Atrium, Changes and Camouflage and for you West coasters at Fred Segal, Garys, Theodore Mens, Mac and T&T.

It's finally Spring and I couldn't be more excited

In the spring, NYC is one of the greatest places in the world. People are bustling outside, everyone is happy and enjoying life, people are hurriedly spooning their frozen yogurt, flowers and trees are in bloom, restaurants finally have outdoor seating (reminds me of Paris), street performers are everywhere, street fairs on the weekend, walking instead of cabbing it (my bank account likes this one), music seems to be in the air everywhere, the fountain in Washington Square Park is back on, doing showroom pick-ups and drop-offs without the extra weight of an enormous coat, scarf, hat and gloves is amazing, summer dresses, bikinis and sandals can finally be worn again, my tan is on it's way back, bright colors are everywhere, really, I could go on and on about the reasons why I love this time of year in the city but one of the best parts is finding someone that you can actually enjoy it with. Spring is here people, soak it in and have fun! Let the BBQ's begin...
