Is so adorable. These kids look way cooler than I did when I was wearing light up kicks and mismatching ensembles.

Talk about comfort
You can't go wrong with this Christian Cotta cashmere, wool and mohair sweater -- combining comfort, style and an extra element of fun -- Cotta knows what he's doing. I. WANT.

I now hate Croc's even more.
They are one of the ugliest 'shoes' out there and I refuse to ever slip my foot into one, especially after seeing this. This ad totally grosses me out - it looks like a fungus - which only adds to my hatred of the holey, plastic, shrek like slip ons. Eww.

Oh Marilyn, you are so right
Everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you can appreciate them when they're right, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Cough, Cough...
I'm not one to negatively comment on people or the way they choose to live/promote themselves but in this case, I have to Perez Hilton it up. SERIOUSLY...who does she think she is?! Just because you were on a reality show, does not, by any means make you a celebrity or entitle you to special treatment. I actually thought she (names need not be mentioned) was attractive before her 45 surgeries, but now she just looks like a wanna be stripper and is obviously trying wayyyyy to hard to promote herself/her disgusting husband/her hair products/her awful singing/acting 'career', the list goes on. I just don't get it. Ok, enough meanness for one day....

HA who actually stands like that?
Happy St. Patty's Day!
American Apparel should thank me..I think I personally keep the Bleeker Street store alive.

Look of the Week: Sophisticated Badass
A button down is generally a sophisticated, businessy (yes, I know it's not a word, but bare with me here) piece of your wardrobe, but can also be very boring. So to mix it up this Victorialand button down took some advice from the mullet - business in the front, party on the side. The cut-out sleeves give this just the right amount of edge to make it more fun and playful and not look like you just walked straight out of your corporate job. Speaking of corporate jobs - I don't think I could have one again...unless I could wear this. Pair this with jeans for a downtown look or a ruffled mini for play time aka happy hour.

Unsocial Saturday
Unfortunately the shoot got cancelled at the last minute, so I had a lovely rainy day accompanied by yoga, movies, wine and cheese.

Alexander McQueen's Final Collection
I wish I could have had the honor of seeing this collection, but the few that did said it was 'exquisite and very emotional'. The sixteen pieces shown were 80% done at the time of McQueen's death and the final touches were administered by Sarah Burton, who worked alongside the designer for sixteen years. I can honestly say, his death not having an affect on my opinion, that this is my favorite of the McQueen collections. Each piece was reminiscent of the Renaissance, yet still so modern and even wearable. Brocades, capes, extraordinary pleats and folds and such detailing that the hand stitching looked as if it were a patterned material. The collection was not only exquisite, but one that showed the remarkable craftsmanship that Alexander was known and adored for.

Time + Clothes = ...
I've been busy prepping for a shoot, so didn't get a chance to take a photo of what I wore the past couple of days. SO instead, I will give you a preview of the shoot to come...just a few pieces and not how they will be styled - can't spoil it! This is me, playing dress up. HA.
Yes, I'm wearing a tutu. Love it.
Sequins + Fedora = Fabulous.
Until tomorrow...

SUNday Funday
It's a quiet Sunday Funday - Art gallery this afternoon and watching the Oscars tonight. I'm more than ready for the red carpet review - definitely the best part of any awards show.

The sun was shining and it was a great day
Finally, I feel like Spring is right around the corner and people in the streets showed signs that New York will soon be alive again. The sun was bright and warm and I couldn't be happier, so tonight I shall celebrate....but unfortunately it's still a bit chilly so a scarf and jacket are still necessary :(

Rolando Santana
I had the pleasure of meeting designer Rolando Santana yesterday when we were prepping for the NY Girl Style Project City Girl launch party and he and his collections are so great. He mixes his Mexican heritage with a New York City lifestyle, which makes for a young, fun, modern collection. Sequin party dresses, shift dresses, bright colors and a mix of jackets and rompers make his collections so wearable and easy to transform from day to night, something every girl needs. Buy now at Rolando Santana or Palma in Soho.
