Alexander McQueen's Final Collection

I wish I could have had the honor of seeing this collection, but the few that did said it was 'exquisite and very emotional'. The sixteen pieces shown were 80% done at the time of McQueen's death and the final touches were administered by Sarah Burton, who worked alongside the designer for sixteen years. I can honestly say, his death not having an affect on my opinion, that this is my favorite of the McQueen collections. Each piece was reminiscent of the Renaissance, yet still so modern and even wearable. Brocades, capes, extraordinary pleats and folds and such detailing that the hand stitching looked as if it were a patterned material. The collection was not only exquisite, but one that showed the remarkable craftsmanship that Alexander was known and adored for.
