The Grammy Awards were, well, kind of amazing this year. They were very entertaining, had pretty great presenters and opened with funny man Stephen Colbert pulling out his new iPad and asking his very embarassed daughter if he was funny enough. Here's a bit of what I thought..
BEST DRESSED:
Glee's Lea Michele in Romona Keveza - my absolute favorite!
Taylor Swift in Kaufman Franco
Fergie in Emilio Pucci
WORST DRESSED:
Katy Perry in Zac Posen
Britney Spears in Dolce & Gabbana
Then there's Lady Gaga...really, she's in a league of her own. The yellow hair is just awful and her Armani Prive dress looks like the solar system, but she's just being her usual self and I think she's great. I am still in shock that she didn't win Album of the Year - I like Ms. Swift, but Gaga deserved this one.
My FAVORITE performances:
LADY GAGA AND ELTON JOHN - need I say more? It was unbelievable.
PINK- she has an incredible voice; even when she is hanging upside down, soaking wet.
AMERICAN IDIOTS - made me want to go see a Broadway play. And I love Green Day.
THE BLACK EYED PEAS - so energetic, I didn't know what to do with myself.
TAYLOR SWIFT AND STEVIE NICKS - T is just so cute and she totally stole the show.
LIL WAYNE, DRAKE AND EMINEM - if you put these three on stage together it's a guaranteed amazing show. It still blows my mind how they can talk so fast and actually make sense.
Celine Dion, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Smokey Robinson all sang "Earth Song (What About Us)". It was a really beautiful tribute that left many speechless. MJ's kids, Paris and Prince Michael, accepted his lifetime achievement award and although Paris' speech was quick and from the heart, Prince Michael's seemed a bit forced - and it was so weird how his voice sounded exactly like Michael's. I thought the 3-D video was a horrible idea - as much as I would like to, who just has 3-D glasses just laying around? RIP Michael, you should have been performing on that stage.
